Eighth Annual Austin Carr Celebrity Golf Invitational
It was a beautiful day to hit the links at the Eighth Annual Austin Carr Celebrity Golf Invitational, Monday, July 30, at the Beechmont Country Club. A total of 112 golfers enjoyed 18 holes with 24 local celebrities.
E CITY Young Entrepreneur of the Year Competition
E CITY (Entrepreneurship: Connecting, Inspiring & Teaching Youth) teaches youth business, financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills. The primary goal of E CITY is to teach teens how to develop a business plan and also connect youth to employment.

The Y.O.U. Winter Alumni Event was a success! Former program participants were treated to dinner, a Cleveland Cavaliers game (and win), and some up close and personal time with Dwyane Wade and the King himself, LeBron James.
Young Entrepreneurs Shop Till They Drop
They’re crowding the checkout aisles with their carts stuffed with goodies, but they aren’t your typical holiday shoppers. These are E CITY students purchasing the raw materials that they will turn into their business ventures. Throughout November and December, E CITY students from all seven participating schools are heading to stores to begin building their entrepreneurial enterprises.

Summer Jobs Participants Prepare for the Future
This year Y.O.U. focused on ensuring young adults 18-24 years-old who participated in the summer jobs program had an opportunity to receive additional training while exploring potential training for their career development.

JOG and E CITY Journeys Begin For Students
With the program pledge sworn, the more than 200 members of the 2017-18 JOG and E CITY classes officially began their 9-month journeys of professional growth and development. At Welcome Celebrations across three counties and 13 schools, students embarked upon Y.O.U. programs geared at employment success.

Every year the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship holds a contest called the Online Elevator Pitch Challenge. This year, Y.O.U. has 2 teens from our E CITY program competing and they need your help. Each student participating in the 2017 National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge has created a 60-second pitch promoting his or her business.
The Seventh Annual Austin Carr Celebrity Golf Invitational is One For the Books!
With more celebrities, golfers, and money raised than ever before, the 2017 Austin Carr Celebrity Golf Invitational was the largest and most successful golf outing in its seven-year history. This year, 24 foursomes plus celebrities hit the links at the Beechmont Country Club to support Y.O.U. programs. The golfers hailed from many Cleveland-area businesses, many of which sponsored the event.
Youth Opportunities Unlimited Receives $20,000 Grant from the Starbucks Foundation
Y.O.U is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Starbucks Foundation as part of its new Opportunity for All initiative. Funds from the grant will allow Y.O.U. to continue to strengthen its operations and school-based and community-based workforce programs. Y.O.U. is the only nonprofit in the state of Ohio to receive the grant from the Starbucks Foundation.
Y.O.U. Awarded Grant from The Veale Foundation
Y.O.U. received a grant from The Veale Foundation for $130,000. The 2017 -2018 academic year award is for E CITY participation in The Veale Youth Entrepreneurship Forum. The Veale Youth Entrepreneurship Forum is a growing network of high schools in Northeast Ohio that equips students with an entrepreneurial mindset and essential skills through exceptional education and real world experiences in entrepreneurship.
Mayor’s Neighborhood Corps Wraps Up Summer Projects
Summer has come to a close for the 73 youth participating in the Mayor Frank G. Jackson’s Neighborhood Corps and, at a wrap-up party, all eight teams assembled and shared their projects and learning experiences.
Y.O.U. Opens Two New Locations
Y.O.U. is growing! We now have four offices to call home; Y.O.U. – Sterling (1255 Euclid Avenue); Y.O.U. - United Way (1361 Euclid Ave); YRC (1910 Carnegie Avenue); and Y.O.U. - Summer Youth Employment at the Post Office Plaza. The two newest offices house the Young Adult Resource Center at Ohio Means Jobs and the Day One and ProPath programs.

Is there anything better than a cold glass of lemonade on a hot summer day? Not according to Abby and Andersen Burkle. The Cleveland Heights siblings hosted a front yard lemonade stand and donated the proceeds to Y.O.U.
