Y.O.U. Partners with Mayor Jackson’s Violence Reduction Initiative
Y.O.U. and Mayor Frank Jackson have partnered to add more jobs and create more opportunities for teens and young adults in Cleveland. It’s all part of the City of Cleveland and Mayor Jackson’s initiative to reduce violence and crime through the Office of Prevention, Intervention and Opportunity for Youth and Young Adults.
Y.O.U.'s Record Setting Year for Summer Employment
It’s officially summer and for approximately 3,900 teens and young adults that means it's time to work! This year, a record 14,746 teens and young adults applied to be part of Y.O.U.’s Summer Employment Program.
Pablo Arredondo Named 2017 E CITY Young Entrepreneur of the Year
Pablo Arredondo, CEO of Whisker Wear, was named the 2017 Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Whisker Wear is a slip-on dog or cat collar cover with a snap-on bow tie or flower accessory. Arredondo, a sophomore at Thomas W. Harvey High School, will now prepare to present his business in New York City at the NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship) National Competition.

Glenville High School's Adrien Grant Wins First Place in Public Speaking
Every year, Youth Career Olympics concludes with the first place winner of the Public Speaking event presenting their speech to an auditorium full of students, sponsors, volunteers, and community members. Adrien Grant, a Glenville High School senior, took top honors in Public Speaking and wowed the audience with his powerful message of getting ahead by getting started.

The E CITY ‘Classroom Competitions’ are heating up and students, vying for the top spot, are pitching their business plan and fine-tuning their product. 2016 Annual Report
2016 was a great year for Y.O.U. , and we’re celebrating our 35th anniversary. Last year 4,679 youth were helped with jobs, internships and other services.

On April 28th, 150 students from Youth Opportunity Unlimited’s (Y.O.U.’s) in-school and after-school programs participated in our annual Youth Career Olympics. outh Career Olympics is a 10-event competition that showcases our students job-readiness and job-seeking skills in an exciting competitive environment.

Youth Opportunities Unlimited joins thousands in Cleveland, Columbus and around the world in mourning the passing of our Founder, the Honorable George V. Voinovich. His passion for public service and belief that “together we can do it” was the foundation of many Public/Private Partnerships that helped Cleveland come back and thrive.
6TH ANNUAL AUSTIN CARR CELEBRITY GOLF INVITATIONAL
Each golfer will receive breakfast, lunch, post-golf buffet, tee favors, and an opportunity to meet the Y.O.U. students. Winning teams will receive great prizes and everyone will get the chance to bid on unique silent auction items. All proceeds will benefit Youth Opportunities Unlimited, Northeast Ohio’s largest youth workforce development nonprofit organization.

E CITY (Entrepreneurship: Connecting, Inspiring, and Teaching Youth) introduces teens to the process of starting a real business by helping them turn their ideas into business plans with the help of staff and volunteer coaches.
