Y.O.U. congratulates Resource Support Specialist, Tulani Black, on her acceptance to the Engage! Cleveland mentorship program. Tulani will be mentored by Jane Christyson, Chief Executive Officer at Girl Scouts of North East Ohio.

Tulani’s supervisor, Phil Schmehl is not surprised by her achievements. He shared, “Tulani is someone who is very passionate about her work and improving the lives of Cleveland youth.  This is evident not only in the rapport she has developed with her participants, but also the effort she takes in improving her skill set through multiple trainings.  Her efforts to improve are inspiring!”

On top of her dedicated work serving summer jobs teens, Tulani is also completing her Masters of Social Work at Case Western Reserve University’s Mandel School of Applied Science. She is concentrating in Community Practice for Social Change. The program focuses on macro social work, which will give Tulani an understanding of social challenges while teaching her how to make a visible impact on people and communities.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Tulani shared, "I am eager to gain insights and valuable advice from seasoned professionals in my field. Learning from their successes and mistakes will undoubtedly contribute to expanding my knowledge and skills. Ultimately, my goal is to become a confident and capable professional who can make a positive and lasting impact in my industry."
