It’s that time again!

We’re gearing up for one of our most popular programs, the Summer Youth Employment Program, better known around the community as “Summer Jobs!” Employers, this is a great opportunity for you to host a Y.O.U. youth at your company or organization.

Teens and young adults who participate in the program work in entry level positions and receive wages paid by Youth Opportunities Unlimited. This year, young adults – ages 18 to 24 – may begin their summer work experiences as early as June 3, and rising 9th graders to graduating Seniors may begin June 24. A second group of 18- to 24-year-olds may begin work on July 29.

Last year, with your help, Y.O.U. staff placed 1,419 teens and young adults in summer jobs. The youth experienced the pride that comes with earning an income, were exposed to different and varied career paths, and learned essential on-the-job skills. Their supervisors and mentors helped them grow as people and start them on their journey to becoming economically self-sufficient.

If you would like to partner with us (or partner with us again), register online as soon as possible. It will help us place the greatest number of youth in jobs.

Registering is easy. All you have to do is click here. If you registered for your organization last year, please use the same username and password. A step-by-step instruction manual detailing the registration process is available here

And, if you’re interested in learning more, our Employment Team is glad to answer your questions and walk you through the online registration process. If you’re a returning host organization, contact Ashley Jackson at (216) 973-0776 or ajackson@youthopportunities.org. If your organization is new to the program, contact Karen Curtis at (216) 973-0996 or kcurtis@youthopportunities.org

Our employers’ involvement in this program makes a real difference in the lives of young adults in Northeast Ohio and our region’s local economy. Our “Summer Jobs” program wouldn’t be possible without you!
