On April 26th, Youth Opportunities Unlimited and MyCom will host a teen job fair.
When: Saturday April 26, 2014
Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Where: Gunning Recreation Center (16700 Puritas Avenue, Cleveland, OH)
Ages: Teens ages 16-19 encouraged to attend (Limited opportunities for teens ages 14-15)
It is recommended to bring a resume and wear dress/proffesional clothing.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF JOBS ARE AVAILABLE! Positions include: customer service, food services, maintenance, retail, sales, packaging/loading, and pool service.

T.J. Maxx Dress for Success Fashion Show - 05/13/14
When interviewing for a job, first impressions mean a lot! Please join our Shaw High School JUMP students at our 4th Annual Dress for Success Fashion Show taking place at 2:00pm on Tuesday, May 13 at the University Heights T.J. Maxx store (14060 Cedar Road).
At the event, students model two interview outfits. In addition to describing why they picked out their specific outfit, students also share a bit about themselves and their career ambitions. Judges will select a male and female winner - each will take home their best interview outfit!
E CITY Citywide Business Plan Competition - 05/22/14
Throughout the school year, about 100 youth (ages 14-18) participated in ECITY classes at 4 area high schools. Students turn business ideas into plans, work with staff and volunteer coaches, and present the plans to volunteer judges to select the best presentation. The winners from each school compete for the grand prize, and you’re invited!
The winner of this competition will be awarded $1,000 from Ernst & Young to help fund their business idea. The Northeast Ohio Entrepreneur of the Year will also win a trip to compete in the NFTE, Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, national competition. The winner of the NFTE national competition will win $10,000 towards the business venture.
On Thursday, May 22, 2014 join us at the new Ernst and Young building at the Flats East Bank for this outstanding entrepreneurial event! Doors open at 4:30pm and the program starts promptly at 5:00pm.
Hear from Entrepreneurial Leaders: Steve Mariotti (Founder of NFTE) and Tim McCarthy (Chief Mission Officer for the Business of Good Foundation) will share their entrepreneurial wisdom with the crowd. Watch our E CITY Students’ Pitches: Watch the top three students present their business plans and help select the NEO Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Network with Cleveland’s Business Community: Immediately following the program, network over delicious appetizers provided by Lago and take in the views of the new Ernst & Young building on the Flats East Bank.

4th Annual Austin Carr Celebrity Golf Invitational - 06/16/14
Austin Carr will host the 4th Annual Austin Carr Celebrity Golf Invitational on Monday, June 16th, 2014. The event will be held at Stonewater Golf Club, and will offer the opportunity to golf with local celebrities to raise money for Y.O.U.
Golf registration, breakfast, and practice will begin at 7:30am, followed by a shotgun start at 9:00am. In addition to breakfast, each golfer will receive lunch, post-golf buffet, tee favors, and an opportunity to meet the Y.O.U. students. Winning teams will receive great prizes and everyone will get the chance to bid on unique silent auction items. Austin will be bringing friends to play with each foursome. In the past Ben Davis, Kevin Mack, Fred McCloud, Mike Hargrove, Byron Scott, Campy Russell, Brad Sellers, and of course, Jimmy Hanlin participated.
