Over 10,000 youth have registered on this site since April 1. About 1,500 will be selected over the next few weeks to move to the next step in the Summer Jobs hiring process. Currently we have 1,330 job openings. Y.O.U. is dedicated to finding as many summer jobs for youth as possible. If more jobs become available, we will draw more youth from this registration pool.

If you have already registered, you will be contacted by email and phone by May 31st, if you have been selected to go forward in the process.

If you are a youth and have not registered yet, please visit us again next year. To learn more about our year-round programs, click here. Employer Registration is still open.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Summer Jobs Program is a collaboration of the City of Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, The Cleveland Foundation, and MyCom, and is run by Y.O.U. It is a public/private summer employment initiative for youth ages 14-18 with 3 summer job opportunities: a 4-week experience with the City of Cleveland Department of Water and/or related departments, a 6-week experience with a non-profit agency, school or government office, and a private-sector experience lasting 4 weeks or more depending on the employer. Youth work 20 hours per week and receive
minimum wage.

This summer youth will be matched to a number of exciting indoor and outdoor jobs depending on their skills and interests. Outdoor jobs include: improving the local environment by cleaning beaches and distributing anti-pollution information, painting fire hydrants, working as aides in recreation centers, and assisting with landscaping. Indoor jobs include: teacher’s aides, junior camp counselors, receptionists, data input, administrative jobs, and light maintenance and service.
